Childhood injuries can have lifetime implications for children and their families.

Childhood injuries can have lifetime implications for children and their families. Children and adolescents are at high risk for injuries or death from accidents such as motor vehicle crashes, airway obstructions, pedestrian crossings, fires, and drowning.1

Too many children also face abuse and neglect at home. Keeping children safe involves everyone — communities, families, and schools.

VOICES for Alabama’s Children recognizes the need to implement policies to keep our children safe. Over the years, we have helped pass and strengthen Child Passenger Safety laws and Graduated Driver’s License laws to keep our roads safer for all children and families.

We were also instrumental in the establishment of Child Death Review teams to ensure that Alabama is doing what it can to keep safe as many children as possible.
