Our Child Care Partners

On behalf of VOICES for Alabama’s Children, thank you for your steadfast partnership and advocacy in improving child care across our state. Your commitment—through policy work, community outreach, and support for families—has been vital in advancing access to quality, affordable care. We are deeply grateful for your collaboration and shared dedication to building a stronger future for Alabama’s children.

The Alabama Expanded Learning Alliance

The Alabama Expanded Learning Alliance (AELA) works to ensure Alabama youth, families, and communities have access to high-quality programming during out-of-school time that promotes positive development and life-long learning. Felicia Simpson, Director of Government Relations & Strategic Initiatives, guides this work, which was established with the support of the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation. AELA is one of the 50 national afterschool networks dedicated to informing policy, developing partnerships, and shaping practices to sustain and increase the quality of afterschool programs nationwide.

The Alabama School Readiness Alliance

The Alabama School Readiness Alliance (ASRA) is a statewide, nonprofit coalition advocating for the expansion of high-quality, voluntary pre-k. ASRA was formed in 2006 as a joint campaign of VOICES, A+ Education Partnership, Alabama Giving and the Alabama Partnership for Children. ASRA’s mission is to close student achievement gaps by ensuring that all children enter school ready to learn. We build support for pre-k expansion by collaborating with community and civic leaders, raising public awareness of the need for and effectiveness of Alabama’s high-quality, voluntary First Class Pre-K program, and advocating for increased state, local and private investments in high-quality voluntary pre-k.

Alabama Early Care & Education Coalition

All children are special and unique and deserve health and safety protections while spending time in child care. Access to safe, high-quality, affordable child care for all children in Alabama is necessary for families to thrive. The Alabama Early Care & Education Coalition, an initiative of VOICES for Alabama’s Children, is a statewide network that supports child care providers in collaborating, advocating, and innovating to ensure high-quality, sustainable early care and education for all children and families.
