Alabama Kids Count

The 2025 Alabama Kids Count Data Book is here!

VOICES for Alabama’s Children is proud to release the 32nd edition of the Alabama Kids Count Data Book—now fully digital, making trusted child well-being data more accessible than ever.

For more than 30 years, the Data Book has been Alabama’s leading resource on child well-being, providing state and county-level data to inform decisions, identify needs, and improve outcomes for children and families.

While the format is changing, our commitment to accurate, relevant data remains the same. A digital platform allows us to share insights more frequently and respond more quickly to emerging issues affecting Alabama’s children.

This year’s Data Book examines child well-being through the lens of mental health. Mental health is shaped by the environments where children live, learn, and grow. By viewing child well-being through this lens, we can better understand where children are thriving and where additional support is needed.
