VOICES strives to ensure the well-being of Alabama’s Children through research, public awareness, and advocacy. We partner with community leaders to encourage Alabama lawmakers to pass legislation beneficial to Alabama’s children.

Our Impact On Alabama's Kids

Child Advocacy

VOICES brought 1000 diverse children together in the state capital for our 6th Annual Child Advocacy Day with the goal of highlighting the importance of counting all kids in the 2020 Census.

Policy Priorities

VOICES set and efficiently led efforts on 4 policy priorities and tracked more than 40 additional bills throughout the 2022 session.  Among these were: Pre-K Funding, Healthy Food Financing Initiative, Quality Child Care funding, Mental Health for Children, Protect Health and Safety Standards for Child Care.

Grassroots Partnering

VOICES staff collaborated and served on more than 20 committees with partner organizations, task-forces, and boards representing a wide variety of issues affecting Alabama’s children and provided leadership to the Child Care Coalition.

VOICES for Alabama’s Children release a number of yearly publications that detail the efficiency,
transparency, and accountability towards our goals.
